Holy Week begins: Jesus is acclaimed as the king of Israel.
Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion (C)
Gospel text
Lk 22:14-23:56
Now one of the criminals hanging (...) said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today we begin the Holy Week listening to the entrance of Jesus in Jerusalem acclaimed by the people as King. But our King enters there to give his life for our salvation. During Mass, we will listen the story of his Passion: it ends with his death on the Cross and buried in the Sepulcher (Holy Friday and Holy Saturday). -Where is the salvation? People have asked "crucify him, crucify him!" Jesus, from the top of his Cross, has answered: «Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing». This is the Merciful Love that "saves" (forgives) our faults.
