Holy Week begins: Jesus is acclaimed as the king of Israel.

Holy Week begins: Jesus is acclaimed as the king of Israel.
Palm Sunday (B)
Gospel text
Mk 14,1—15,47
The chief priests, with the scribes, mocked him among themselves and said, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today, we live a synthesis of the Holy Week: Mass begins with the narrative of the triumphal entrance of Jesus in Jerusalem and during the proclamation of the Gospel we hear the Passion of the Lord according to Mark. Jesus enters the Holy City being praised by the crowd and will leave receiving insults. What a contrast! —The triumph of God is consummated in the Cross: God triumphs over evil by “returning good for evil”. Thus reigns Jesus!
