Jesus declares himself Son of his Father-God before his disciples

Jesus declares himself Son of his Father-God before his disciples
Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent
Gospel text
Jn 5:17-30
Jesus answered the Jews: “My Father is at work until now, so I am at work.” For this reason they tried all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath but he also called God his own father, making himself equal to God.
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus reveals His identity a little bit more: He is God! At the beginning of His preaching He used the title of "Son of Man": it was a gentle way of transmitting that He came from Heaven. Before the high priest He will say, "I am."
