Gospel text
Jn 9:1-41
Jesus had made clay and opened his eyes on a Sabbath. So then the Pharisees also asked him how he was able to see. He said to them, "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and now I can see." So some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, because he does not keep the Sabbath." But others said, "How can a sinful man do such signs?" And there was a division among them.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we picture a miracle that, by our fault, ends up in controversy. Some say that the blind man is a sinner. What nonsense! To remove this prejudice, Jesus goes and, straightforwardly, heals him... He asks him to get rid of his mud. The man obeys and heals! It was Saturday! More discussions: before it was the blind man, now Jesus ... —It would be better to disapprove and judge less, so that we could pray more. We would certainly see more miracles!
